Description
Every year on the 5th November, people in Britain celebrate the failure of the Gunpowder Plot in 1605 with bonfires and fireworks. Historically the night is steeped in tradition. These days Bonfire Night is a less serious affair as most seize the opportunity to join friends and family and enjoy the spectacle of the night.
Donning brand-new winter gloves, scarves, hats, and ear-muffs, folk parade through villages and towns to see the local firework display. The warm aroma of sticky toffee apples, roasted marshmallows, and warm cider fill the air. Cold breath mingles with the lingering smoke from sparklers. Young children clutch on to their parents as they gaze in wonder at the spectacularly-lit night sky. Nicola has captured the very essence of Bonfire Night in her festal design.
